A New Year’s resolution is a promise a person makes for the new year. Regardless of what resolution a person commit to, the goal involves  improving life in the coming year. Resolutions come in many forms. Some people make a promise to change a bad habit, such as quitting smoking or eating less junk food. Other people make a promise to develop a positive habit, such as starting an exercise program, volunteering in the community, or recycling more.

People often find it difficult to abide by their New Year’s resolution, but several step can be taken to stay on track. For example, seek support from others.  Share goals with friends and family and let act as your cheerleaders. Create a reward system for yourself by setting short-term goals and reward yourself for meeting them. Lastly, practice makes perfect. No one is perfect, so instead of beating yourself up, take a deep breath and keep trying.

Use this year to make outstanding goals to better yourself. With a little hard work anything is possible, so stay positive and live prosperous.
