This past Monday, January 26, 2020, will forever represent a very somber day in the sports world. One of the most famous and well-known basketball players to ever play the game, Kobe Bryant, tragically died in a helicopter crash, along with his daughter, Gianna Bryant, and nine others. Bryant was often discussed when sports-enthusiasts debated the “best” basketball player to ever play. He worked incredibly hard to make the National Basketball Association better and ranks fourth all-time in points scored in a career, third in fifty point games, and third with the most points in the playoffs. He left a legacy for the game of basketball forever. When brought up in a conversation. People often reflected on the kind of kindness and positivity Bryant radiated. As well as being a great basketball player, he served as a great motivational speaker, role model, and his biggest accomplishment, a dad. In 2018, he completed an interview talking about how much love for the game of basketball his daughter, Gianna, often called Gigi, felt. Gigi traveled as many places as possible with her father, and there was never a time were they were not seen smiling, cutting up, or bonding over the game of basketball. During several games that day and others that followed this week, many teams paid their respects in very emotional and respectful way. Either teamstook a twenty-four second shot clock violation or an eight second violation, in which, many fans rose to their feet and started chanting “Kobe, Kobe, Kobe”. There
undoublty that Kobe Bryant left an enormous mark on basketball: now and forever. Not just by the game he played and the love and passion he possessed for basketball, but also in the way he carried himself. His main priority was always his family and we all know that they are going through an indescribable time no one would ever want to endure. R.I.P to Kobe and Gianna Bryant and the nine others that tragically died and May their legacies live on forever
