The Lady Raider Softball team competed in an outstanding season thus far, with an overall record of 21-7.

The Lady Raiders faced tough competition in region this year, battling against teams like Jefferson and Stephens, but managed to pull through and place second in the Region Tournament.

The Region Tournament started on Tuesday October 3, 2017, with the team playing Jefferson, and after a long hard game of ten innings, the Lady Raiders fell short of a victory 3-2. Luckily, the tournament was double elimination, and the Lady Raiders remained in the running. Next the Lady Raiders played Oconee County and won big, 10-0. The Lady Raiders then faced the Stephens County Indians, and reigned victorious with a 1-0 win. The team advanced to the championship, where they once again faced Jefferson for the title of Region Champions. Unfortunately, Raiders lost 9-8.

Landing in second place provided the Lady raiders with the great honor to host the first round of state on Wednesday October 11, 2017. Against Blessed Trinity for two games, where the Raiders placed two more wins under their belt. The Lady Raiders conquered the first game 6-0, and the second 5-0. Winning both of these games advanced them to the next round, also known as the Sweet 16!

Next, the Lady Raiders will travel to Ringgold, Georgia on Wednesday, October 18, 2017,  to battle against Heritage Catoosa for a spot in the Elite 8 and to hopefully advance to the state tournament in Columbus.
